What we read

Each night we read the public pages of the businesses you choose to track:

• Instagram posts, reels and stories
• Facebook and Instagram ads in Meta's Ad Library
• LinkedIn company posts
• their websites, such as offer and price pages
• news that names them

TikTok, Snapchat and Google Maps are read only when they are turned on for your account. We never read private accounts, comments, Facebook page posts or X. On websites we follow the site's robots.txt.

If you turn on Posts that mention you, we also read public posts by others that tag or name your business.

From a video we keep still frames and the words spoken in it, then delete the video. Speech is turned into text on our own server.

What we keep about you

• Your account: your email, your company, its city and industry, your language, the time your report arrives and your time zone, the accounts you track and your answers during setup.
• Your team: the email, role and job title of each person you add.
• Your reports: each day's report with its pictures and story screenshots, so you can go back and search. A story stays after it ends on the network.
• Ask: the last 20 questions and answers for each person, so Ask can follow on. Clear them at any time in Settings. Nobody asking through a shared link is remembered.
• Sign-in: your 6-digit codes are stored scrambled and expire after 10 minutes. A sign-in lasts 30 days; Log out ends it.
• How you use Tellz: when a signed-in person opens an item, shares it, downloads a PDF or asks about a topic, we record what it was, the day and the person's role, to improve Tellz. The record never holds your email or your words.
• Assistants you connect: their access lasts 1 hour and renews for up to 90 days. We keep a record of each request they make for you.

Visits to our pages are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and does not tell us who you are. Our server keeps 7 daily backups.

How long we keep it

While your account is open we keep everything above, so your earlier reports stay searchable.

To close your account, write to hello@tellz.ai. We delete your account and its reports from our server, and the copies in our backups are gone within 7 days.

How we use it

Only to make your report, answer your questions, send your emails, keep your account safe and improve Tellz. We never sell your data or use it for ads, and we do not use your reports or questions to train AI models.

Who helps us run Tellz

These services handle data for us, each only for its part:

• OpenAI writes your report and answers Ask. It receives public posts and pages, and your setup: company, city, industry, language, job titles and your own calendar and offers. Never your email.
• Apify reads the public pages. It receives the accounts you track, and your own account name when Posts that mention you is on.
• Google News receives the names of the businesses you track, as search words.
• Resend sends our emails. It receives your email address and the email.
• DigitalOcean runs our server. Cloudflare connects tellz.ai to it, and its Web Analytics counts visits to our pages without cookies.
• Google Fonts serves the typeface our pages use, so Google sees that a page asked for it.
• Telegram or Slack, only if you choose one for your report.

Assistants you connect, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Grok, receive what you ask them to read. They never receive email addresses. Disconnect one at any time in Settings.

What a shared link shows

A link you share opens that one day's report, or that one item, and never your other days. Anyone with the link can open it without logging in.

On a report link, a visitor can also use Ask, which can search the public posts and ads we collected for your account. They cannot open your other reports, and their questions are not remembered.

A link stays on until it is turned off. The account owner can turn off any link; a teammate can turn off the links they made. Items forwarded from a report stop when that report's link is off.

Cookies and your browser

Tellz sets one cookie, mybrief_session, which keeps you logged in for 30 days. It is used for nothing else.

Your browser also keeps a few things on this device so pages open fast: a copy of your account's settings, your recent searches and questions, and your light or dark choice. Log out clears all of them except the light or dark choice.

Your choices

• A copy of your data, or deleting your account: write to hello@tellz.ai. A person answers within one working day.
• Clear what Ask remembers in Settings.
• Turn off a shared link at any time.
• Disconnect an assistant in Settings.
• Turn Posts that mention you on or off in Settings.
• Stop our emails: write to unsubscribe@tellz.ai from the address that gets them. A person stops them within one working day.

Changes to this page

The date at the top shows the last change. When a change affects how we use your data, we email account owners before it applies.
